Century-old Kerala homes moved and rebuilt as cottages on the canals at Ezhupunna South, reached by country boat.

Kondai Lip Backwater Heritage Resort at Ezhupunna South, in northern Alappuzha, is run by a local family who have lived in the area for generations.

Guests are ferried across a palm-fringed canal in a country boat. The cottages are all more than a hundred years old: traditional homes that were taken down and rebuilt here, with wooden interiors and modern amenities. They face canals on two sides around an open dining area.
